Centrix Seminar Success

Centrix played host to over 30 of its key accounts on September 27th for its annual Technology Seminar and lunch. This year’s event was held at Avaya’s prestigious headquarters in Guildford, Surrey.

Top of the agenda this year was “Unified Communications & Mobility” a subject of great change in recent months with a raft of new products being made available that are now changing the way in which we communicate on a day to day basis.

Ian Calder, Commercial Director at Centrix opened the day followed by Bruce Everest, a long time employee and technical expert from Avaya. Bruce highlighted some of the key areas in which Avaya are becoming involved and outlined their product roadmap for the coming months.

Amongst the topics discussed and demonstrated was the high level of integration with Microsoft® Office Communicator™ and Avaya IP Softphone allowing seamless integration of the technologies. Bruce commented: “This level of integration brings out the true benefits of IP as a transport method for voice. End users are now able to choose how they wish to use telephony and have the option of staying with Microsoft® look and feel whilst benefiting from the power of Avaya IP telephony platform”.

Following a visit to the Executive Briefing Centre at Avaya, Richard Burbage and Matthew Barnett rounded up the presentations with a look at how the products shown are licensed and showing some clear paths to the new product set and demonstrating ways in which their customers can leverage their existing investment in Avaya products.

Matthew Barnett commented: “Much of today is about showing the customer how to get from where they are to where they need to be both in terms of pricing and licensing but also in terms of picking out the technology that will benefit their business. Year after year we receive positive feedback from these events with many customers using it as their annual update and budget planning day”.

The event was rounded off with an excellent lunch at the Loch Fyne Restaurant in the centre of Guildford with many customers choosing to stay on well into the evening.
