Centrix launch CHAT
Thursday 1st October 2009 saw the launch of a unique service in the UK when Centrix announced the arrival of their CHAT offering. CHAT (Centrix Hosted Avaya Technology) is the first of it’s kind in the UK and brings the strength of the Avaya product portfolio with the know-how of Centrix in a fully hosted model.
The launch, at the BT Tower, saw a number of journalists and industry experts gather to hear what the service is all about and how Centrix were the first reseller in the UK to launch the product.
Richard Burbage, Sales & Marketing Director of Centrix, had this to say on the day, “CHAT (Centrix Hosted Avaya Technology) is unique in a number of ways not least of which is the partnership between the Service and Support element of Centrix with the full Avaya product portfolio. Customers can now choose between a traditional cap-ex model, a fully hosted solution or simply a managed solution, each having their own benefits depending on how a customer chooses to want to finance the solution or commit to the deployment. And what makes the service unique, apart from access to the award-winning Avaya portfolio on a hosted model, is that customers can even own the equipment or licenses after the initial contract has expired. In summary it’s anything the customer wants it to be: fully hosted, managed service, rented, lease purchase and more.”
Sandy Spink of Spink Telecom Consultants Ltd., was at the launch and commented on how unique CHAT was, “I’m impressed. Centrix really appear to have stolen a march on the competition by delivering what customers are asking for; they respect the functionality and flexibility of the Avaya products but want flexible means of acquiring the solutions. Some want a managed service and some want a fully hosted solution. It would appear that whatever the requirements Centrix will be able to deliver with CHAT”.
The event culminated in a number of demonstrations of the Avaya One-X set of applications which Centrix can deliver to customers through the CHAT service. These applications, which included One-X Communicator, One-X Portal, One-X Mobile and the new Avaya iPhone app, are helping Avaya to lead the way with a powerful blend of unified communications for the enterprise user.
Centrix have already signed up a large user for the CHAT service with in excess of 1,000 users across a number of sites in the UK. Richard Burbage concluded the event by saying, “CHAT is unique and Centrix are delighted to be launching the service at a time when customers demand flexible acquisition options. As a service it’ll sit very happily alongside the other products and services we have and will be a success!”.
