Extends Partnership as Abbey Business Centres Takes
15-year Lease at Canada Square,
Canary Wharf
Abbey Business Centres
announces that it has agreed to take the 28,000 sq ft,
37th floor at One Canada Square, Canary Wharf, London,
on a 15-year leasehold agreement.
The space will be used
by Abbey Business Centres to provide multi-occupied high
quality serviced office space equipment with the latest
Avaya technology on a flexible leasing basis.
Canary Wharf is the 13th
location that Abbey and Centrix have worked together on
and will be the company’s first venture into London’s
Docklands.
Julie Calder, managing
director, said: “At the moment vacancy rates at
Canary Wharf are at an extremely low level, equating to
around 2 per cent of the total. We are convinced that
there is a strong underlying demand from a variety of
businesses for serviced office accommodation on flexible
leases at this sought-after location.”
Just over a year ago, Abbey
took a lease on 28,400 sq ft of office space over two
floors at The Gherkin, St Mary Axe in the City, since
when occupation levels have been “extremely high”,
according to Ms Calder.
She added: “Following the Gherkin deal, our occupation
of a floor at Canada Square extends our current policy
of securing quality office space in iconic buildings or
prestige addresses.”
Ms Calder said she hoped
to announce a further leasehold office agreement –
this time in London’s West End – very soon.
Richard Burbage, Sales
and Marketing Director said “We are delighted to
work with Abbey on such a prestigious project and to see
Avaya deployed once again to maximise revenue and attract
new clients. As partnerships go, it’s very much
a mutually beneficial one and also, I’m pleased
to say, one of longevity too”.
