42-Site Maintenance Contract Awarded to Centrix
One of the UK 's largest maintenance base of Avaya Definity® telephone systems for a single customer has been awarded to Centrix as part of a major tendering process.
The customer, a well-known private healthcare provider, currently has installed a network of 42 Avaya Definity® and Communication Manager™ switches across the UK and was looking to consolidate all of the sites with a single maintainer. Centrix already supported 17 of their existing sites with a major competitor looking after the remaining 25 sites. After a lengthy tendering process Centrix were chosen, despite not being the cheapest proposal, based on a proven record of providing knowledgeable support, good account management and competitive pricing.
Richard Burbage, Sales & Marketing Director for Centrix, who negotiated the contract had this to say: "This is a good result for us as it proves the way we support and account manage our customers is putting us ahead of our competition. It was particularly pleasing to note that we won the tender despite not being the cheapest as we are only too aware that we offer value-for-money and not necessarily the cheapest solution. It was a nerve-wracking time as we stood to lose 17 existing sites if we were not successful, but clearly the goal was to secure a further 25 sites for this customer which I'm pleased to say we did".
The contract, which begins on 1 st June 2005 , involves the direct service and support of the network of switches and additional items such as moves and changes and upgrades. The existing network of Definity® switches involves some older software including V4 right up to the latest S8500 Media Server running Communication Manager™ 2. Several of these sites will require upgrading during the course of the year and Centrix are ideally placed to secure that business going forward.
