Trade Supplier of the Year

Business Centre Association (bca) members and guests banished all thoughts of economic downturn to don their glad rags and gathered to celebrate excellent performance at the Association’s annual Industry Awards Gala Dinner on Friday, 28 November. The glittering event drew more than 400 from all over the UK, Europe and Middle East to the Park Lane Hotel, Piccadilly, where the winners and nominees were hailed by their peers.

The highly prized Business Centre of the Year Award was won by Business Environment at Wembley, with delighted centre manager Sam Samaraweera and MD David Saul on hand to accept the award. Business Environment Wembley occupies a prime location adjacent to the new Stadium and has recently undergone a £10 million refurbishment.

The Managed Workspace of the Year Award went to Flexspace Swindon and the Trade Supplier of the Year Award was won by voice, data and IP provider Centrix.

Jennifer Brooke, bca executive director, commented: “The bca’s annual Industry Awards are always fiercely contested, with many hundreds of nominations received for each category. All of the winners should be extremely proud to have been successful in the face of exceptionally strong competition, and I reiterate the congratulations of all members.

“The awards dinner itself was hugely successful: a complete sell out, the excellent dinner was followed by cabaret and dancing till the early hours: it was absolutely outstanding. The support of the event by our members shows continuing confidence in the flexible managed space sector, and celebrating the success of the winners provides a tangible fillip to us all.”

Julie Calder, Executive Director of Abbey Business Centres Ltd, expressed her delight on Centrix winning the highly prized award: “Abbey Business Centres has used Centrix for over 10 years, they have set up all of our centres and have successfully and efficiently maintained them since then. Their service is second to none, of all of our suppliers they are definitely the most proactive and are constantly looking at ways for us to provide better service to our customer.”

Brian Andrews, Executive Director of Basepoint Centres Ltd, also commented: “Centrix have supported Basepoint over several years, helping and guiding us through the minefield of telephony with their honest approach, expert advice and realistic solutions. We see Centrix as a key partner and major player in the telephone arena who will be helping us with our long term growth program well into the future“

Richard Burbage, Sales & Marketing director of Centrix summarised the importance of the award: “The BCA has consistently championed excellence in our industry and for Centrix to win such a prestigious award, voted for by our customers and received in front of our peers, is a great honour. Winning this award for the third time is testament to the entire Centrix team who have consistently demonstrated our commitment to our customers and their licensees. Never is good customer service more important than in these uncertain times: this award will serve as a reward to our staff for their sustained hard work and good humour. Thank you to Jennifer Brooke and the Board of the bca who do such a sterling job.”
