Private hospital group approach Centrix for health check
The Hampshire Clinic, one of the leading private hospitals in the South East and part of BMI Healthcare, have enlisted the services of Centrix for a new voice solution for the expanding hospital.
The current BT Monarch has been used in the Basingstoke-based hospital for the past 13 years but the time had come to replace the system and add new functionality, such as ISDN, DDI and Voice Mail. In addition, with a new operating theatre and further patient bedrooms being added later this year, the system needed to be expanded.
Centrix, as part of an on-going relationship with BMI Healthcare that dates back to 1996, specified an Avaya Definity ECS with Definity Audix voice mail. Richard Burbage, Sales & Marketing Director of Centrix explains, "We've worked closely with BMI for a number of years but this is the first project we've undertaken for them this year. Having been involved with upgrading 21 of their sites in the past with Avaya Definity, we don't anticipate any problems this time around. In fact, of all the other hospitals in their group, ranging from the very North of the country to the South West, it will be refreshing to carry out an installation for them in Basingstoke as its only half a mile from our head office !"
The solution, which is due to be installed and completed during August 2001, will bring the Hampshire Clinic firmly into the 21st century with a modern telephone system capable of integrating with a future Voice-over-IP network that BMI are looking to roll out in the near future. Both patients and consultants alike should notice the improvement to services offered both on Reception and in the Outpatients Department when the system goes live at the end of August.
