-December: General Healthcare award contract

General Healthcare award Centrix a six-figure contract

General Healthcare Group is a leading provider of independent healthcare services throughout the UK offering a range of services including acute care, long term psychiatric care and preventative healthcare through its operating division BMI Healthcare. BMI is the acute hospital division of General Healthcare Group, and is the largest independent provider in the UK, with over forty hospitals serving the needs of their local communities.

As part of a modernisation programme throughout BMI, relating to their IT infrastructure, a total of five of their hospitals across England and Wales required new digital telephone systems. The six-figure contract for Avaya Definity switches was finally awarded to Centrix after a two-month appraisal of both products and suppliers.

Richard Burbage, Sales & Marketing Director for Centrix, explains. "Centrix have a wealth of knowledge in supplying telephony and wireless solutions to the private healthcare sector, so when General Healthcare approached us, after having completed a successful installation at The Hampshire Clinic in Basingstoke, I felt confident we would be able to differentiate our products and services from our competitors.

The Avaya Definity system was an ideal switch to install into their network as not only did it offer the functionality they required at the outset but we knew they would be able to grow into the features of the system, as opposed to growing out of them. Contrary to what most people think, private hospitals are demanding users of telephony with several larger hospitals requiring call centres and wireless. We are looking forward to working with BMI in delivering first-class solutions and sharing in their success.
